The north face is named for the coldest, iciest and the most formidable route to climb in the Northern Hemisphere. The north face has a long history dating from 1966. Two hiking enthusiasts founded the small mountaineering retail store following their passion. Soon after, the little shop became known as a retailer of high-performance climbing and backpacking equipment. It was so popular by outdoor enthusiasts that it became the only producer in the United States to offer a comprehensive collection of high-performance outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, packs and tents.
